When we started out bathroom update I knew budget was going to be a major constraint. We’re prepping for Nora’s first birthday and party, having to fix our roof after a tree fell and took a chunk out, and fixing our warped kitchen floor after a leak. While I had been eyeing a few really great and modern options for above our mirror ( like this and this ) it’s just not something we can really splurge on at the moment. As an after thought I had the idea to see what I could do to update the existing fixture. Here’s what we started with:
I started by taking the glass covers off of the fixture to see what it looked like underneath and I quickly realized that the “bones” of this fixture were pretty good.
I decided I would tape off the connections and give it a few coats of oil rubbed bronze spray paint that I already had on hand. I was truly amazed at how big of a difference this one little decision made in our bathroom.
So, what is your favorite simple update? Something small (in budget or size) that packs a big punch for your room? It’s all in the details and I’d love to hear all about it!
